Good Fences Thursday - 6/5/14 "Playground"

Good Fences Thursday challenges us to post an image of a fence or gate each week.

North Park, Allegheny County, PA
5/23/14
Although I read real books, I love audio books because they allow me to read and do something else at the same time ---heaven for someone who is addicted to reading. I drive, do laundry, work in the garden, grocery shop, do Nordic walking, workout at the Y, and take photos while I "read."

At the library just blocks from my home, there are rarely any books I want to read and the DVDs and audio books are all smudged or scratched so they hang up, skip or stop completely. So every Friday morning, I drive 45 minutes to the county where I used to live to go to a terrific library. Because it is tied into the metropolitan and county libraries near there, I can order any item from any branch in the system from the library's website and pick it up when it is delivered to my library of choice.

I leave early and stop at a county park to walk and then head to the library that opens, for adults-only, at 8:30 am on Fridays (unless I'm running late ---then I walk after my stop at the library.)  I like to walk on a one-mile loop with woods surrounding it, passing this playground, one of many in the park. And it just so happens that it has this fence to block it from a parking lot and another fence to block a road on another side and, of course, the "fences" that are part of the playground equipment.

Next week, I'll turn around to show you what the same fence and the scenery beyond it look like in the opposite direction.

That is an idea of a shot.

It is fencing. Smart thinking.

It also has that yellow fence to protect the kiddies from falling. Lovely colors in this photo!

Now those colors will catch your eyes!

I used to love audio books, and still do...but hubby interrupts so much I don't listen to near as many as I used to.

BUT, our library has a digital place we go to from our home computer and can get e-books and audio books...all from the comfort of our own home! It saves a ton on gas...I just totally enjoy it.

Looks like a stimulating place to take a walk ... very colorful. The fence is interesting. Looks like it was built to keep cars from driving into the playground ... double duty.
Interesting find ... and I like recorded books too :)

That is a very colorful playground. We have one here, but these colors are much nicer! I didn't know libraries would lend audio books. Must check to see if our library does.
